Tuesday:
Flew home, had CPK with my mom and Erin, did laundry. Chris, Erin, Mom and I played some Wii before I went to bed. A Pretty low-key day.
Wednesday:
Slept IN!!! No alarm or anything, it was great. Then I got dressed and walked to the store to get things for dinner. I made chicken/broccoli/cheese stuffed pasta shells. They were really good. Other than that, I didn't do much.
Thursday:
Had lunch at Mimi's with my mom then went to Notre Dame to see Miss Ridlehuber. After that we went to Target (yay new clothes!) and Michaels for scrapbooking supplies. Then the whole family went to Chevy's for dinner...ole!
Friday:
Met Miss Ridlehuber, my high school French teacher, for lunch. It was fun, we mostly talked about how she's getting married in August and my trip to Europe. It's pretty weird to have lunch with an old teacher and call them by their first name and everything. Weird, but cool. She drove me home, where my mom was getting things ready for my sister's performance at some construction company's St. Patrick's Day party. The lady who scheduled the dancing was a friend of my dad's when he was in grade school (seriously, he knows EVERYONE!) and she gave me her card and asked me to send her my resume. I might have a real job this summer! I watched some episodes of Angel with Erin, then Mom, Dad and I went to Applebee's for dinner.
Saturday:
Watched some TV when I woke up, then Mom took me to Mervyns to take advantage of a sweet sale. I ended up with a tres cute dress, new jeans, and warm-up pants. I don't have anything to warm up for, but they are COMFY! Then Chris and I headed up to Grandma's, but we told my mom we were going shopping for a present for her and my dad. On the way there I realized I forgot to figure out the cake situation, so we picked up some cake mix at Longs on the way there. It took a while to find a parking spot, so I dropped Chris off to start the cake. After about 20 minutes, I found a spot and walked over to the house. Most of the people were already there, so of course my parents were going to be late. But it was ok, there were plenty of appetizers and wine at the pre-party. We cooked the cake at 500* (because the oven wouldn't work at any temperature below that) in Kathleen's house, which is above my Grandma's and was where everyone was waiting. When Erin called to tell me they got off the freeway, Chris and I went down to my Grandma's house and waited there for them. Once my mom and dad were BOTH in the house, Grandma called Kathleen and everyone came down. I'm fairly certain they were both genuinely surprised, even if my mom did seem a little suspicious. Then I went upstairs to frost the cake and brought that down for people to eat. It may have looked like it belonged at a 5 year old's birthday, but it was still good :) Once everyone had left, I helped Grandma and Joann clean up as much as I could before they told me to leave. All in all, I think it was a successful surprise 25th anniversary party. Once I got home I washed the rest of my dirty clothes and started to pack, then passed out.
Sunday:
Chris and I played Wii again, I rock at bowling, then I finished packing. Dad got lunch after he came back from church then Mom took me to the airport where I waited to fly back to Portland on a full flight.
The list:
-Had the Greek pizza at CPK. It was pretty good, I'm a fan.
-Made stuffed pasta shells. Just like manicotti, only a different shape.
-Ate at Mimi's with my mom. I thought we had done this before, but she swears she would've remembered the menu, so I'll take her word for it, and add it to the list. But I have my doubts.
-Bought things for scrapbooking. The last (and only) time I made a scrapbook was in third grade, and then I didn't have to buy my own supplies. It's kind of expensive.
-Had lunch with an old teacher.
-Ate at the deli down the street from ND, pretty good.
-Got a potential job offer from a real job - it would be my first over 20 hour a week job. It counts.
-Planned and executed a successful surprise party. This was hard, but way gratifying.
-Drove a Buick (my brother's new car).
