One last weekend

So my last weekend in Portland was fun, even though I wasn't in Portland for all of it.

Friday after work, I went up to Olympia to see my freshman year roommate (who was up on vacation from Santa Barbara) and her family. Friday night, the two of us, her parents, and her oldest brother went out to the same bar they took me to on my 21st birthday. It was fun, but I was up til 1:30am! Normally that wouldn't be that late for me, but seeing as how I haven't gone to sleep after 11:30 for the past two weeks, it was REALLY late for me. Then the next morning we woke up at 9:30 and went golfing (REAL golfing) with her brothers and some of their friends from high school. It was my first time real golfing. I used two clubs the entire time - the 8 iron and the putter. I would've stayed with the 8 the whole time but they said when you're on the green you have to use the putter. So I did. The people that played golf normally said I was really good for this being my first time golfing. I think it was because I could hit the ball straight and far. Apparently that's a good thing in golf.

After we were done golfing (I did get a little sunburned, but not too bad) every one went back to the house where there was a bbq. After a few hours of doing nothing, some of us decided to go to an indian casino. The boys went and lost money at the tables, while the girls went to the slots. I won 15 dollars! After we got back from the casino, we played Guitar Hero for a while, then I drove back to Portland.

Sunday I had lunch with a former housemate who is moving to Eugene today. We went to Red Robin, it was fun. Then Amie (my current housemate) and I went shopping to get stuff for dinner. Since it was the season finale of Desperate Housewives, we decided to do a DH themed dinner. But because it was so hot, we decided instead to just do things that didn't require cooking. We had a watermelon salad, a cheese/fruit/bread plate, a green salad (with grapefruit, tomatos, avocado, soy nuts, and onions in it), and of course wine and mimosas - b/c what else do desperate housewives drink? haha.

All in all it was a good weekend b/c I had lots of fun. I'm sad it was my last one up here, but I'll definitely come back to visit. Next weekend includes a drive from Portland to RWC, and another from RWC to Rescue and back. We'll see how that one goes :)
