As most of you know, for some reason, the University of Portland does not observe public holidays. So while most of you are enjoying your day off and the last day of your three day weekend, I am doing my normal 8-5 workday at the Help Desk. Luckily for you though, this means I'm bored and ready to write another installment of this oh-so-amazing blog.
First, I must tell you that I finished the syndicated copy of the New York Times crossword puzzle today in about 25 minutes, and in pen too! I also finished the Jumble in about 15 seconds. I love Mondays, if only because the word games in the newspaper are the supposed easiest they'll be all week.
The past couple days have been pretty normal. On Thursday I found out I passed all my classes from France (yessssssss) and watched Lost (I freakin love this show. It helps that almost nothing else is new these days). I got an AMAZING roast beef panini at New Seasons on Friday, and I didn't have meat on Saturday to make up forgetting about Fridays during Lent. Eggs are okay, right? Sunday was going to be a play in the sun day (haha) but it was cold even though the sun was out, so I just opened the blinds and enjoyed the warm rays with out the coldness of the wind.
All in all, it's been pretty boring. I started doing a cross-stitch I found in my art drawer in my desk and I'm almost done with my book. I'll probably finish it on the bus today, good thing I got another one from the library :) Oh, just real quick about busses - it's amazing how fast you can get from my house to school on a holiday, what with not having to stop as often as usual. With the exception of getting to work 20 minutes early, it was pretty amazing.
That's pretty much it, but, as usual:
-Ate a roast beef panini from New Seasons. Seriously, if you're ever in Portland, eat at New Seasons at least once, you'll definitely enjoy it. And if you don't, you're just weird.
-Ran at the track at Duniway Park.
-Was able to drive with the window down and the heater off (new for this year)
-Finished a school paper more than 24 hours before it was due.
-Cooked a pre-marinaded chicken filet from Foster Farms. It was ok. I think I'll stick with making my own marinades though. Or maybe I just won't buy that kind of chicken anymore.
-Watched Dexter. Dark, funny show. Was originally on Showtime, but they're playing it on CBS, I'm guessing because they have no other new shows these days. So if you really wanted to, you could just rent the DVDs and watch it that way. :)
